Have you ever said ‘I don’t look good in yellow’? Too often? Please ditch that thought girls! There are many shades of yellow to choose from – Pale Yellow, Mustard, Marigold, Canary – there’s always a shade that complements your skin tone. I love yellow and I am majorly obsessed with it ATM. Yellow gives me positive energy. Yellow makes my mood lighten up. Yellow is the colour of happy things – of sunflowers and dandelions; of lemons and lemon tarts; it’s the colour of juicy mangoes and of emojis too!
And why are we talking about
yellow? That’s because ladies, if you want to look hot this season, yellow is
the colour you need to worry about. It was one of the most seen colours on the
fashion runways and countless designers, including Gucci, Hermes and Valentino,
used this tricky hue in their collections. Take a look at some of the celebrities
rocking it in the colour du jour.
Buttercup happens to be one of the top ten colours of the Pantone Colour Report 2016.
Let’s take a tour of what some of
the best labels in Pakistan are doing with the colour of sunshine.
BOHO by Sania
Soft, minimalistic and chic, this
one’s a must have for the season. The fringe on the daaman and sleeves wins the
super cute top extra style points! Pair this with boot cut pants and sport the
super in look.
Daaman
Daaman never fails to impress. It
is my go-to store for last minute casual kurta
requirements. Take a look these yummy designs in yellow – a cheerful kurta in neon yellow, a simple, block
colour kurta in pale yellow with chikan on the daaman, a digital print kurta
with sprays of canary – they’ve got it all.
Farida Hasan
We all all know Farida Hasan is beyond
amazing – and that is exactly what this lemon yellow outfit proves. It is
stunning and the silver handwork on the organza belted cape makes this piece a
jaw dropper. I am totally wearing this to the next wedding I have to attend!
Misha Lakhani
Fly to a happier place with this
cute lemon top! It is just ideal for Eid.
Don’t you agree? Paired up with a tulip shalwaar,
this one’s going to make quite a few heads turn, I bet. I love the super loose
cut – what more could one want for a July Eid?!
REMA By Rema and Shehrbano
Okay, so I am torn between this gorgeous
pale yellow piece and the one by Misha Lakhnai for Eid. Would it be crazy to wear
yellow on the first AND the second day of Eid? Probably yes – help me choose?
Another stunner in yellow by REMA
is this one. I love the knotted sleeves, the fabulous gold belt at the waist
and the lavishly embroidered boot leg pants the top is paired with. What a
fresh way to wear yellow. DROOLING.
SUFFUSE by Sana Yasir
If you’re into florals and
delicate embroidery, this one is the one for you. I love SUFFUSE – their skill
at combining laces and fabric and using intricate embroidered details to adorn
their outfits is just amazing. This one is super summery and the organza
detailing on the daaman with little silver sparkles adds the cherry on the
cake. You are bound to radiate happiness in this dress.
Sana Safinaz
This Sana Safinaz top is trendy, cheerful and just right for those casual summer days.
Wajood
Wajood gave us some extraordinary
designs at their Eid Exhibition last month. Here are the two yellow kurtas we adore from their collection. The embroidered motifs
are exquisite.
Still a little hesitant to be
clad in yellow? Do not worry, we have solutions for you!
How about accessorizing with
these funky yellow shoes? Any of these pairs would look great with an all white ensemble
or can even be paired with a neutral top and jeans. Here are some of the truck-art
inspired yellow shoes we love, with love, for you.
Another way to show that you are
up to date with the fashion trends of SS’16 is to carry a statement yellow
handbag. The coolest part is that you don’t have to run to London or Dubai to
get your hands on the perfect one – you can get them right here, in Pakistan, from
NinaNeri. Have a look at these wonderful handbags in shades of yellow. Just let
that one accessory pop!
Soooo.....nice trip down the sunny road?
Are we ready to say hello to yellow this season? I certainly hope so! Be bold,
embrace the brilliant butter hue and sport some yellow like a boss!
