Multan, the city of saints and Sohan Halwa, is also the land of great artisans. The history of Multani ceramic art, also known as Kashikari, is as old as the history of this beautiful city itself. Multani blue tiles have been used to decorate various Sufi shrines, mosques and modern buildings across Pakistan. Some of our favourite buildings which use Multani tiles in their facades and interiors include the Shrine of Sachal Sarmast in Khairpur, Eidgah in Multan, the shrine of Bibi Jawindi in Uch Sharif near Bahawalpur and the Royal Graveyard in Cholistan.

The ancient Multani blue pottery has not only inspired architects through centuries but also various textile designers, jewellers and home décor stores in our country have drawn inspiration from the beautiful hues of blue.
